In 1965, Jessie and Virgie Handsborough decided to open Virgie’s Place. This quickly became the neighborhood teenager’s spot for great burgers, music and fun. In 1975, the building was converted into a community grocery store, Handsborough’s Grocery, until 1998.
In February 2005, the Handsborough’s son Adrian, took a leap of faith and opened Virgie’s Bar-B-Que. For over 20 years Adrian has been cooking “barbecure” for family, friends and especially his mother Virgie, who taught him how to cook barbecue.
Virgie’s Bar-B-Que is based on the belief that our customers’ satisfaction is of the utmost importance. Our entire team is committed to serve you. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from repeat customers and referrals.
We look forward to serving you!
